Kevin Nahler > Black Druid. (March 2008, Lamar Valley)
Kevin Nahler > "Team Work" Two of the Druid pack carrying off an Elk leg. (June 2008, Footbridge) This was very close to the end of a three hour wait/photographing session with the Druid Peak Pack Wolves on 29 March 2008. The last 30 or 40 photos that I took, I could not feel the shutter button on my camera anymore. But it was well worth the cold and the pain to be fortunate enough to watch them for so long.

Kevin Nahler > "Lonely Howl" Agate Pack Wolf. This is a yearling Wolf and a testimont to the fortitude of truly wild animals. He was struck by a car in late 2007. His hip was damaged and he lost half of his tail. But he was still able to keep up with the rest of the pack and make it through the worst part of the Winter. (March 2008,Near Roosevelt)
Kevin Nahler > "Nose to Tail" 15 Druid Pack, Wolves. This photo, or one similar to it, was the reason that I wanted to go to Yellowstone in March. I was fortunate enough to capture two different photos with 15 of the 16 Druid Peak pack wolves. (March 2008, Crystal Bench)
Kevin Nahler > "Facing A New Day" Druid Peak Wolf. Lamar Canyon, Yellowstone. This photo was taken on 11 Marh 2008, just 17 days prior to the Gray Wolf being removed from the Endangered Species list. I frequently struggle with 'Titles' for the few photos that I do name. I came up with the name for this one when I went back and looked at this photo after the delisting had occured. It felt appropriate, considering what all the Gray wolves that have made a remarkable recovery in ID, MT and WY will face in the coming years.
Kevin Nahler > "In The Shadows" Druid Peak Wolf. Lamar Canyon.
Kevin Nahler > Gray Wolf approached Bull Elk. (March 2008, Lamar Valley) This photo was taken early in the morning, during a small snow flurry. Several juvenile wolves had chased this bull Elk out of a nearby treeline. This photo appears that the Elk is in 'dire' straights, but only two Wolves approached it and eventually left him. The Elk is not sunk in the snow, he is a small streambed.
